How to get there

The Eiffel Tower is located in the center of Paris and can be reached in several ways.

By metro

  • Bir-Hakeim stop (line 6)
    This metro station is about a 10 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower. You can also take beautiful pictures of the Eiffel Tower through this spectacular angle.
  • Trocadéro stop (line 9)
    This metro station is about a 20-minute walk from the Eiffel Tower. However, it is worth choosing this metro station because from Trocadéro square you have a beautiful view over the Eiffel Tower and the surrounding gardens. From there you can descend and reach the Eiffel Tower through the beautiful gardens of Trocadéro.
  • Ecole militaire stop (line 8)
    This metro station is about a 15 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower. Between this metro station and the Eiffel Tower is the Champs de Mars park area. If you like a nice walk through the greenery, the Ecole Militaire stop is a good option.

By train (RER)

The Paris RER is a network of regional trains that connect the center of Paris with the suburbs.

  • Station ‘Champ de Mars – Tour Eiffel’ (line C)
    This train station is a 7-minute walk from the Eiffel Tower. Choose this train station if you are short on time and want to get to the Eiffel Tower as quickly as possible by public transport.
  • ‘Pont de l’alma’ station (line C)
    You can walk from this train station along the Seine to the Eiffel Tower, the duration of this walk is about 15 minutes.

Gare du Nord to Eiffel Tower

Gare du Nord is about 5 km away from the Eiffel Tower. From here you can reach the Eiffel Tower by train as follows:

  1. Take line B to the stop ‘St-Michel Notre-Dame’.
  2. Change to line C, and get off at the ‘Champs de Mars Tour Eiffel’ stop.
  3. You are now just a 7 minute walk away from the Eiffel Tower

The entire route passes through 8 stations, and takes just over half an hour.

By bus

You can also get to the Eiffel Tower by bus. The stops below are only a few minutes walk from the Eiffel Tower.

By tourist bus

There are several tour buses in Paris and they all stop at the Eiffel Tower.

If you want to visit the Eiffel Tower, it is best to choose a bus where you can get on and off whenever you want (‘hop-on & hop-off bus’). In this way, you can reach the Tower in a comfortable way while enjoying the other monuments that Paris has to offer. Most tour buses have a guide on board, so you can learn more about the rich history of Paris.

On shared bikes

Vélib bikes are an ecological and healthy option to get around Paris. Here are some Vélib’ stations that are within a few minutes’ walk of the Eiffel Tower:

  • Station 36 Suffrenlaan.

By car

The Eiffel Tower does not have its own parking.

By Batobus

Batobuses are the hop-on hop-off tourist boats that ply the Seine. It is a nice and quiet way to discover the monuments located next to the Seine. This mode of transport also gives you a different view of the city center and you will certainly be able to take a good photo.

The Batobus has a stop at the Eiffel Tower quay, called ‘Tour Eiffel’. From this batobus stop it is only a 5-minute walk to the entrance of the Tower.

Eiffel Tower from London

To get to the Eiffel Tower from London, you need to take the Eurostar. From London to Paris by high-speed train is an easy journey, taking approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes.

Your journey begins in London at St Pancras International station. To enter the Schengen area, verification of identity and travel documents is required, and both baggage and passengers will be checked.

You arrive in Paris at the Gare du Nord train station. From this train station you can easily reach the Eiffel Tower by metro.
